BBC is furious that Hungarians are having babies

Post by That Guy » 3 months ago

BBC recently put out a propaganda video warning you of the "dangers" of the rising nationalism in Europe.

Most disturbingly, they interviewed Hungarians who are happy with their situation. I'll start the video at the most-relevant part:

They get a tax break that equals almost their gross salary if they have 3+ kids. Quote from the father: "Life is very easy for us because we like it here"

The horror!

How can this be? A smart Jewish man @Afro_Vacancy assured me it wasn't this simple not a fortnight ago! That without immigrants, infinity GDP, and cheap Chinese electronics we can't be happy! That boosting the birthrate via financial incentives shouldn't even be bothered with because it doesn't raise your birthrate to 2.2 children per woman overnight and therefore doesn't work. What is happening here!?

In fact, the only asshurt people in this video are plutocrats like that one mayor, who "sees a sad future" for Hungary because Viktor Orban doesn't kiss journalists' asses, and destroyed undefined "legal institutions". Clearly, they need to stop protecting their borders, cultural and ethnic identity with pro-parenthood financial incentives and what not and open the floodgates to the third world so that they can defend what really matters — journalism, lawyers and democracy!

Because they're not importing endless amounts of vibrant and diverse brown people, obviously

Good luck to the Hungarians. We in Australia are doing similar things thanks to the center right parties of the last few years.

Australians first, third world migrants a distant second.

Well we aren't doing that in any sense and the Liberal party aren't center right either by any reasonable reference of the spectrum. The policies of the Liberal party anywhere in Europe would make them considered center to centre left social Democrats. There is "talk" of decreasing rates of immigration in various aspects, but it hasn't actually occurred, certainly was never going to happen under Turnbull.

Labor wanted to double refugee intake and increase numbers in other respects drastically, the fact that the Liberals opposed this (and not particularly strongly on rhetoric) doesn't make them even remotely close to the nationalist parties in Europe.

If Australian's were first with third world migrants a distant second, we wouldn't be letting ANY in, and we'd drastically cut the amount of workers we intake from any of those countries also.

Okay, I think you're right.
