How long do you think finasteride maintains for ?

Discuss proven and experimental available hair loss solutions: minoxidil, finasteride, concealers, etc.

Those statements were all over the place when I was researching hair transplants before I had my first FUE.

People and surgeons would always tell me: "you should take finasteride if you want to stop your hair loss"

My first reaction was always like "did they find the cure for hair loss while I was in the toilet?! What do you mean 'stop'?!"
Yeah, would be nice that Finasteride would stop it. I only went to 2 hair transplant surgeons (but both expensive and not in Turkey) and they told me if I don't have side effects from Finasteride, I should take it cause it will "slow down" hair loss a lot. My take on Finasteride is that if you dont have side effects, there is 0 reason to not take it and I'm strongly against the believe that if you have side effects, it will be permanent despite the fact you stopped taking it. Most hairloss sufferers are in a very depressive state and think their dick won't get hard because they took Finasteride for 2 days. It's not the daily porn, lack of GYM and the suicidal thoughts. It's Fina.

The evidence is that for most men, finasteride will allow them to keep their current hair (and maybe regrow a small amount of lost hair) for a decade or more.

Pros:
It's cheap, it's easy, and it maintains existing hair.

Cons:
It doesn't regrow (much) hair, and there's a risk of severe side effects.
