Did Spiro actually help your hair grow back?

I'm just curious. I'm never going to take it because I am male, and I heard it has
dangerous side effects for men.

That said, I also read that it was the best thing for females with androgen alopecia.

Is that true, in your experience?

I took oral spiro for 2 weeks had the worse sides
My Gyno made me go off it.
My sides continued for 3 or 4 months just from 2 weeks use

I only use topical spiro and finasteride and neither has given me any sides.

Regimen: Finasteride 1 mg daily, Progesterone 2% (22mg daily), Minoxidil (15% AM/30%PM/ faster hair growth only).
Using 1.5 mm needle on all bald/balding areas every day.
This is the hairline and entire vertex area.

Now I'm starting to change my mind, because I probably could get a doctor
to prescribe me topical.

If you don't mind me asking, how much money is it?

Did topical spiro help at all?

I used topical spiro cream that was compounded by a pharmacy, i think it was 5% by weight and i used it for almost a year. I'm not sure it helped, its hard to tell with these minor treatments, and it also stank like rotten eggs when it got mixed with the liquid minoxidil.

The stuff was probably just crushed spiro tablets mixed with vanicream and it costed like $35 for a 60g tube

It did seem to help right away. It’s mjxed with an alcohol vehicle. Ethanol?. It is in a spray bottle. No smell. Dries quickly.

If you look up Desmond in other hair loss sites he gave a recipe to make your own with ethanol I think mine is similar compound.

I can’t rememe what mine cost I will look up price soon I have the paper someplace and tell you. It’s a ‘female’ blend. But I dint think it matters.
My bottle would last like 3 months.

The finasteride was stronger although I used both together. I had less shed with Spiro and even less shed when I added the finasteride.

You dont think any of the spiro/finasteride went systemic?

I don’t.

I had an immediate bad reaction with my period cycle on oral spiro. I took it for only 2 weeks. It stopped my period for 3 months and when it finally came back was excruciatingly painful because it was accumulating but not coming down.

Since using topicals my period is normal (which is normal for me I’m always clock work)

I have had no other symptom I can tell but I’m a woman.

I have dieted/worked out and lost weight like normal. I have a few more pounds to lose but I’m not eating as careful as I should to lose it. I have no swelling or mood swings or anything I can attribute to hormones.
My point is I don’t feel I have side effects.

I’m 47 so my hormones will start to change so it will be hard to know except I’ve been using topicals now finasteride 1 and spiro 2 years.

So you havent tried oral finasteride? The topical finasteride may have gone systemic and you wouldnt know it, because you havent tried it orally. maybe its the topical-gone-systemic finasteride that helps your hair loss... I don't know

Not sure if you are asking @Hairblues or me that question.

I have tried it, but for a short period of time (days, at the most).

I've always used the same amount of Finasteride, which is equivalent to one milligram orally (0.1% topical).

I've never had any sexual side effects. And I also take a large amount of topical Progesterone combined with
Finasteride, and Minoxidil (which probably helps the least amount).

topical progesterone seems promising from the OP's results, but I dont know too much about the sides. Sorry if its already been answered in this thread, but how did you come across it?

Does topical progesterone inhibit testosterone? Seems useful but that’s my biggest fear when it comes to fucking with these kinds of things

There's no Testosterone inhibiting. I still have a beard, lift weights, and a morning
boner.

If you can find a manufacturer that makes hydroxy Progesterone, that's the best
for hair regrowth.

I would recommend a company, but I can't find one that makes that.

What type of Progesterone does Murray's use?

I've considered their stuff in the past as they seem to be one of the few places to offer a minoxidil + tretinoin combo from a legit pharmacy. Most of the other additives they offer seem to be mostly random unproven stuff (azelaic acid, etc), but progesterone interests me

They make USP Progesterone, which is as close "chemically" as you can get to the real thing.

For my own experience, the combination of both Finasteride and Progesterone did the trick.
I use it from both medicalwellnesscenter and regenere (Promox).

Susan Mernstein is an excellent pharmacist, and she not only owns her own business, but she
is highly educated in pharmacy. She will get back to you if you email her.

If you are interested in her product, you can send her an anonymous email at
https://www.maapgh.com/contact-us.html

She is a very nice person. I've done business with her since 2012.

That said, I've only used the prescribed product, from medicalwellnesscenter. I have never tried
any product from the pharmacy itself. (They do sell similar items at Murray's Acotherapy, but I've
never tried any of them).

Are there any actual good studies on using topical progesterone to treat male pattern baldness? Almost everything I’ve seen on it seems to be anecdotal reports and speculation due to progesterone’s relationship to hair growth and dht

Yes, there is on the government website. It was done in India.

It's equal to one milligram (DHT it reduces), so it's the same.

.1% topical is equivalent to one milligram. There's really no difference.
