@nameless @Yettee and @Afro_Vacancy I hope y'all have a great Super Sunday over there in the greatest nation on God's green earth.

Y'all pickin' the Chiefs but I'll stick with the San Francisco 49ers, and the fog rolling in over Alcatraz.
So have a great day and God bless America, my (cultural) home sweet home.

Anyway I've set my alarm for 10:20am Australian East Coast Daylight savings time.
Ten minutes before kick-off and right in time for the national anthem. God bless!

You too, enjoy the game!
I picked the Chiefs but 49ers could easily take this one. Fascinating matchup, two great teams.
I think your man Donald T will be interviewed by one of his biggest fans at some point during the pre-game stuff, so if you'll be watching on FOX you might want to get up a little earlier for it.

KC come from behind and take the title. It was a pretty entertaining game in the end.

I didn't see who got the MVP.

Mahomes is something else.

I don't think any team can stop the Mahomes-led offense.

It was Mahomes... and I agree, very difficult to stop the Mahomes-led offense. 9ers probably had a better shot than anyone and they couldn't do it. Anyway, great game and season.

@Yettee It was a great season and it was also great sharing it with you and nameless.
It was a fun ride, especially witnessing the Titans' late season run.

The off-season is starting and all kinds of things will happen during the offseason so let's keep posting to share our takes on off-season personnel changes. Keep in mind that the Titans will draft players and become stronger and they'll sign free-agents who will improve their team. Same for Kansas City and the 49ers and the Ravens and Patriots and Green Bay. There's lots of off-season news coming so let's keep the discussion going. I like talking about NFL goings on.

I also like it, and it's been a great conversation. But frankly I don't know, I'm put off by pretty much all of the conversation in the other threads these days, so like some other posters I think I may not be here nearly as often. As you've noticed I've pretty much only posted in this NFL thread for a while, but as I'm sure you also know it's addictive to click on the other threads and there's a lot there which I think is not what I'm looking for at this point. In any case, it's been a great run, blackg you're a fun football poster, and nameless you deserve a lot of credit for your Titans call, well done.

I know that Mahomes is a big part of the Chief's magic but I think the Chief's pass-catchers are also a big part of the success of the Chief's passing attack. One of the receivers came out and said that no team could guard against them and I think they may be right. You would need a Marshon Lattimore at each of the 3 cornerback spots. And then you'd probably also need a Jamal Adams and Kevin Byard at the safety positions. Actually, the Titans 2 safeties, Kenny Vaccaro and Kevin Byard, are probably good enough to slow down the Chiefs but the Titans really only have 2 possible studs at the cornerback positions - Adoree Jackson is a stud and Malcolm Butler may be a stud too. Logan Ryan is the weakest link for the Titans at cornerback. They are going to need 3 top cornerbacks if they want to have any chance of beating the Chiefs.

That aside, I think me saying I would be happy if a certain poster here died is part of what you find off-putting about the site. Just to let you know I have never actually felt that way about anyone else before. But that POS has been fighting with and harrassing me for months and months non-stop while I've been trying to look the other way. He has been attacking me with crude and coarse language and he has driven me to the point that I literally hate him. I understand if you take exception to the things I said to him about how his death would make me happy, but after months and months of his nasty attacks against me, while I've been trying to look the other way, I've had it with him. I despise him. And it's uncommon for me to feel hate like I do in this case. I can get mad at someone temporarily but in his case I truly loathe him, and in my opinion my attitude towards him is justified given his constant and ugly attacks against me while I've been trying to ignore him. i can only be pushed so far.

While of course that's not good to post and I'd very much disagree with that sentiment (and when personally insulted, I think the best thing is to just stay cool during those conversations...it's usually not about you, but that person, so what's the point in getting worked up about it?) that wasn't at all what I was referring to. I absolutely wasn't talking about you. To be honest I agree with the essence of most of what you post, even if not the delivery sometimes. And you should know that I wrote to @Afro_Vacancy at some point years ago that I thought you were the best writer on the other site, I stand by that. And here too. I think of everyone you'd have the best chance to become a successful short story writer, for example. You have a natural ability to play with words that can't be taught.

___

Here's an example of part of how I critiqued some of your writing, back in the day. It's true:

This is great writing, it is. It's unforced, slangy in a unique way, fun, descriptive, showing not telling. J.D.Salinger would love it. Of any writer I've seen here he has the clearest, most unique voice, he's the one I think could sit down and bang out a very good novel most effortlessly.

"and when personally insulted, I think the best thing is to just stay cool during those conversations...it's usually not about you, but that person,"

Ahh yes, when he says he'd be glad if I was dead its just a reaction to my nasty, unjustified bullying, but when I proceed to point how horrible this makes him appear along with the fact he's constantly wished death on half the country and those that disagree with him politically (including referring to Admin of all people as a Nazi constantly), its just me.

Wise words from the Yettee. If you're insulted, its clearly not arisen out of your own actions, its just those of others. You're perfect just the way you are. That and everyone's a Nazi.

"Bernie Sanders appears to be catching up to Joe Biden unfortunately.

Bernie Sanders has no chance of beating Trump. Bernie Sanders is a socialist and the American people are not going to vote for a socialist. If Bernie Sanders wins the nomination then Trump will probably be re-elected."

And indeed, this is some truly stunning prose. Nothing at all like a five year old just learning to write would produce. Salingeresque.

Either there seems to be an underlying theme of glorifying childishness and a lack of self-reflection here or maybe you're right, he is truly an unmatched master of the pen around these parts.

Wow! Thank you yettee. I don't know what to say. It's such a nice compliment. Thank you.

And just to let you know, now that I've responded to most of the insults the other poster hurled at me while I had him on ignore the past months I've put him back on ignore. Based on my past history I'll likely be ignoring him literally for months.

Well of course I haven't read in detail all your communication with nameless... has anyone? But in my personal interaction with you on this site, Trump made a decision that I said I thought was "spur of the moment", a simple and short comment, and you went ballistic. You called me a liar, a moron, lots of stuff, just as you've called other people names and gotten personally insulting as a reaction to political opinions you don't agree with - often when expressing anything negative about Trump. So I'm assuming that something similar may have happened here.
