My big issue is the weather. I don't know how the Titans fare in snowy weather and the temp could be below freezing. Then again, I don't know how the Chiefs fare in cold snowy weather either. It seems like cold snowy weather would hurt the passing game and be neutral for the running game.

Contain Mahomes (passing game) and you beat the Chiefs.

When it comes to talent Mahomes and Sammy Watkins are just about all the Chiefs have. Are those 2 (Mahomes and Watkins) good enough to beat the star-studded Tennessee Titans by themselves? I don't think so. But I need to see injury reports and weather conditions before I make my pick.

Let's compare the draft pedigree of the starters for Titans and Chiefs below:

TENNESSEE TITANS OFFENSE

WR A. J. Brown - 2nd round pick
WR Corey Davis - 1st round pick.
SR Adam Humphries - UNDRAFTED
LT Lewan Taylor - 1st round pick
LG Rodger Saffold - 2nd round pick by the Rams.
OC Ben Jones - 4th round by Houston Texans.
RG Nate Davis - 3rd round pick by Titans.
RT Jack Conklin - 1st round pick by Titans.
TE Jonnu Smith - 3rd round pick by Titans.
QB Ryan Tannehill - 1st round pick by the Dolphins.
RB Derrick Henry - 2nd round pick by the Titans.

TENNESSEE TITANS DEFENSE

DL Jefferey Simmons - 1st round pick by the Titans.
NT Daquan Jones - 4th round pick by Titans.
DL Jurrell Casey - 3rd round pick by the Titans but plays like a 1st round pick. Gone to 4 pro-bowls and is an alternate pro-bowler this year.
LOLB Harold Landry - 2nd round pick.
LILB Rashaan Evans - 1st round pick.
RILB Jayon Brown - 5h round pick.
ROLB Kamalei Correa - 2nd round pick by Ravens. Barely an average starting EDGE. Titans may cut him after 2020 or move him to backup
CB Logan Ryan - 3rd round pick by Patriots.
SS Kenny Vaccaro - 1st round pick by Saints.
FS Kevin Byard - 3rd round pick by Titans.
CB Adoree Jackson - 1st round pick by Titans.

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS OFFENSE

WR Hill Tyreek - 5th round pick by Kansas.
WR Watkins Sammy - 1st round pick
WR Mecole Hardman 2nd round pick
LT Eric Fisher - 1st round pick
LG Andrew Wiley - Undrafted FA
OC Austin Reiter - 7th round draft pick
RG Tardif-Duvernay - 6th round draft pick
RT Mitchell Schwartz - 2nd round draft pick
TE Travis Kelce - 3rd round draft pick
QB Patrick Mahomes - 1st round draft pick.
RB Damien Williams - Undrafted free agent
Fullback Anthony Sherman - 5th round draft pick.

KANSAS CITY DEFENSE

DL Tanoh Kpassagnon - 2nd round draft pick by Chiefs
DL Chris Jones - 2nd round pick by the Chiefs
DL Derrick Nnadi - 3rd round draft pick by Chiefs
DL Frank Clark - 2nd round draft pick by the Chiefs
LB Damien Wilson - 4th round pick by the Cowboys
LB Anthony Hitchens - 4th round pick by the Cowboys
LCB Charvarius Ward - undrafted free agent
SS Tyrann Mathieu - 3rd round draft pick
FS Daniel Sorensen - undrafted free agent
RCB Bashaud Breeland - 4th round draft pick
CB Kendall Fuller - 3rd round draft pick

You definitely know your details, nameless and I can't believe Kenny Vaccaro was a first round'a. I mean, he's a good player and all but an early first round pick...

Anyway you forgot to mention that Derrick Henry was a Heisman trophy winner.

Check out the difference between draft pedigree of the Titans OL versus the Chiefs OL:

The Titans have two 1sts, a 2nd, a 3rd, and a 4th.

The Chiefs have a 1st, a 2nd, a 6th, a 7th, and an undrafted free agent.

We're talking about quality here. The Chiefs have a mediocre quality OL.

The Chiefs 6th and 7th round picks on the OL and their undrafted free agent on the OL have to try to stop Jefferey Simmons (1st rounder) and Jurrell Casey from getting to the passer. Sure Jurrell Casey was just a 3rd round pick but he plays like a 1st round pick...like I said before Jurrell Casey has been to 4 pro-bowls and he's an alternate at this year's pro-bowl. He should be thought of as a first round talent. And the Titans will also have Harold Landry (2nd round pick) and Rashaan Evans (1st round pick) crashing into the Chief's mediocre OL.

In a nutshell, the Chief's are sending an OL made up of a 1st, a 2nd, a 6th, a 7th, and an undrafted free agent to try to stop a defense that will have two 1st round picks (if you'll think of Jurrell Casey as a 1st round pick, which is how he plays) and two 2nd round picks plus another player or two. I don't think that OL, which is mostly lesser players, can stop the stars that the Titans will send plowing into them. I really don't think anyone's expecting it but I see the Titans getting 4+ sacks against the Chiefs given the weakness of the Kansas OL. Yea, the Chiefs OL held their own against the Texans front-7 but the Texans don't have as much talent in their front-7 as the Titans do.

And yes I know that the Chiefs pass-catchers had great success against the Texans but the Titans have a better secondary than the Texans do. Kenny Vaccaro is one of the dbs playing well in the Titans secondary. He was drafted by the Saints with the 15th pick of the 1st round.

I'm still waiting to see the injury reports before I make my pick for this game.

It's true. He really can't be contained by another team. Now, I admit that bad weather COULD contain him but I really don't think the Chiefs can stop him without help from the weather.

I got a big kick out of it when I read where Patriots' players and Ravens players were talking about Henry after he beat them and they basically said, "You can even know he's coming and you still can't stop him." Is it just me or is that kind of funny?

Snow and ice are slippery and it's hard to run when the ground is slippery. That could impact on Henry's running. But it could also impact on both teams passing game. This Sunday could be something of a shit-show.

I'm nervous about Sunday. I somehow think that the Titans have already played their Super Bowl. Twice.

The Titans have 7 players listed as "Questionable" for Sunday's AFC Championship Game. Five of them are starters. UGH! But all of them did participate in "Limited Practice" on Friday.

The Chiefs have one starter listed as "Questionable". His name is Chris Jones and he's their best defensive lineman.

I'll make my pick after the Titans and Chiefs release news this Saturday or Sunday about which players will and won't be playing on Sunday. I'll also be interested in the final weather report before the game although I admit that I have no idea which team will be most affected by the anticipated bad weather.

Here's the latest news I've gotten:

https://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/articles ... 0_31077668

Kansas City Chiefs aren't sure yet but they're thinking that their best defensive lineman, Chris Jones, won't be able to play tomorrow. He's an excellent pass-rusher and a solid run-stopper. If he's out of the game that could help the Titans. I'll know for sure tomorrow before the game starts. At this point I'm pretty certain that even if he plays he won't be at 100%. I'm also still waiting to see which Titans will and won't be playing tomorrow. The temperature is expected to be around 20 degrees all game long. Ugh!

It looks like the average winter temp is around 8°F colder in Kansas City than Nashville. Significant but probably not a showstopper.

That said the average January daily low temp in KC is exactly 20°F, so they should be awfully comfortable.

I really don't think so yettee. I don't think anyone is "comfortable" when the temperature is 15 to 20 degrees.

I was reading about this issue today and the fact is that almost ALL QB see a drop in their Quarterback Rating in cold temperatures. Patrick Mahomes' 4 worse games have been in cold weather.

https://foxsportsradio.iheart.com/conte ... d-weather/

I think the cold weather will make receivers' hands somewhat numb and the football as hard as a rock. I think that could make it hard for pass-catchers to catch the ball. I think both teams' passing game will be somewhat off tomorrow and I also think that Tannehill is older than Mahomes by 7 years and I think that maturity advantage could help Tannehill play through the cold better than Mahomes. I also think that the cold weather will hurt the passing game more than it will hurt the running game, which could play in the Titans hands since the Titans have an elite running game and the Chief's running game is average at best.

The latest weather report from Kansas City indicates that the winds could be worse than previously thought by weather forecasters. This is more bad news for the passing game and that means this is more bad news for the KC Chiefs.

I think the Chiefs are fools for maintaining an open stadium. I think they're hurting themselves as much as they're hurting visiting teams.
