Not very likeable.

I had a hair transplant operation with the clinic of Dr. Emrah Cinik in Istanbul, with 2750 grafts being mostly placed in the front. It was a success both for general aesthetics and general well-being, and I encourage others to do the same.

I feel hopelessly inadequate.

I'm visiting a place with a bunch of brilliant, hardworking people and it's making me both of excited and insecure. I'm excited due to the possibilities for collaboration and simply for learning, and insecure due to how efficiently these people operate.

I listened to four people give five different talks between 1100am and 115pm, by the end I was fried, but other people were on fire just following everything and asking pointed and relevant questions.

There's a machine learning meeting nearby. My AirBnB roommate works at IBM. He can take a photo of me and make it look like a van Gogh or Picasso painting.

Meanwhile, it took me ten minutes to figure out how to install fucking pdftk on a Mac. After failing in a few different ways I found that it's more complicated due to OS issues.

Some people are just very good at listening and understanding. I personally struggle with it. In class, I often zone out and start thinking about irrelevant stuff. Even when I do pay attention, my understanding of things doesn't get deep until I read and reflect on things myself. It's just the way I learn.

It's not just limited to class. Even during meetings at my work, I often zone out and struggle to pay attention. One of my past supervisors even commented that it's obvious that you don't pay attention during meetings. I get away with all this because I develop software on time and according to requirements. The quality of my work never suffers due to my lack of attention. So my managers stay happy, despite noticing my attention issues.

I meant to write operate, the word overrate showed up as an absurd typo. I've edited my post.

And thank you.

I was so miserable being in a cramped train for several hours this morning.

And then I got out and waked around Penn Station and I was happy.

This is interesting. I do this too, I tend to struggle computing rapid-fire instructions/commands. Especially in concert with others.
It's only later when I reflect in peace, and maybe with some written instructions, that I get a complete grasp of things.

Also, my ex girlfriend used to get frustrated watching a movie with me as I'd have to skip back various times during the movie so I didn't lose track of the plot.

I admit that I thought that baldness was funny back when I didn't have any genuine conception of it.

It first hit me at some point in my 20s. I was gaining muscle and losing fat in a gym full of mirrors, and feeling good about myself. I saw that my hair line was turning into an island, and then I thought "fuck, one step forward and one step back." I felt fear of the possibility of being perpetually ugly to women.

If I was hot enough to pull while bald, or if I had gotten married in my early-to-mid 20s, I would have likely never cared, or at least never cared much.
