Point taken @Wire, members cannot change their usernames themselves anymore. If someone wants to do that in the future, send me a PM.

Public announcement: I'm going to take a long break from the forums to concentrate on other things.

Moderators have been nominated to take care of the reports and the bans in my absence.

That's good to hear you can work from home. Yes we are in autumn now and I fear our winter will bring on a spike in covid-19 cases.
In New South Wales, at least (my state) the number of infections is slowing due to the new social isolation measures. We think.
Anyway, I hope summer brings you guys some luck up there in North America.

Did Fred even say who the new moderators are? It's nowhere on the forum.

Well, it's Pat, KJ and ... Blackg.

As blackg isn't updating us on the new rules he's implemented I'm going to take that liberty myself:

-Do not make posts about Wolf, they will be deleted, you will not be informed. To even find out if it was deleted on purpose you have to PM a moderator (and it's likely you didn't even know who they are until this post) if it's blackg which is likely, you will be told to re-write the post and you won't be given the original post itself, you will also have no instructions as to what "re-write" actually means. Fred wrote a post saying he doesn't like seeing Wolf posts directed at him, so blackg has interpreted that as meaning we can no longer discuss Wolf or post links to his posts on HairLossTalk. If you want clearer guidelines on this incredibly specific rule then you're shit out of luck.

-There are basically no more rules - "unilateral" decisions can now be made, what that essentially means is that without following any rules or guidelines blackg can decide whatever the hell he wants to. Using the word unilateral means there's no further justification needed, we may as well forget the fucking rules as it's all random from here on out, don't bother asking what rules you've broken if your post is deleted, you'll simply be told it's a unilateral decision, it's basically an "exception" to the rules, so don't worry about the rules themselves.

-Reporting posts now influences blackg in to thinking there absolutely has to be something wrong with the post, he feels this justifies his decision making. Now we can go down the road of everyone reporting each other and blackg assuming there has to be an issue, "no smoke without fire" mentality.

-Spam - is now allowed. In particular the baseball spam threads, which blackg saw and then somehow started asking the bot if they're a legitimate member of the forum? Even after Johnson explained it's a bot, the threads still sat there until Pat deleted the post, so spam is absolutely fine by blackg, everyone inform the entire internet that they have a safe haven here.

So just to be clear, if you want to write constructive posts that take time and effort- those can be deleted on a whim and you won't even know about it (you also won't be given the post back to re-write it, it will be gone).

However if you're a spam bot looking to illegally use this site to advertise and give malware links to our forum members, that's welcome. Blackg has no issues with that, he literally did nothing about it.

Content is deleted, spam is welcome.

When 99.9% of people would instantly know it's spam and delete the fucking topics, he wasn't sure if it was a real member, and then! Even when it was explained to him, he just said thanks, and hours later the topics just sat there!

This is our new moderator.

Lol, Rudi causing a storm in a teacup. I actually deleted the bot post but it seems we weren't left with the tools to delete the entire thread.
This is a learning curve for all of us so just bear with me and my two fellow mods.

Look, for anyone who doesn't know, the post of @Rudiger's I deleted featured too many direct quotes from Wolf Pack attacking Fred.
This is a no no but conversations about Wolf Pack are still on the table.
Let's just not quote his direct attacks against Fred.
