I recently saw "Edge of Seventeen"
A highly rated movie (94% on RT), but I found it to be trash.
It is basically a movie about a solipsistic female brat (and female thus highly rated).

This is from the movie where the brat is talking to her male school teacher.

Look at you. Look at...
Like, you do nothing. Look at your hair.
You don't even...
You don't do your hair 'cause you
don't have any hair. You're bald.
You know what? You know
why you're not married?
Because bald men are gross and disgusting, and
especially the ones that make $45,000 a year.

Imagine if a male student had said the equivalent of this to his fat female teacher.

Interestingly, this trashing was not there in an earlier draft of the script:

:D

That scene cut deep, but I also remember the "twist"
Spoiler
in which the bald character is revealed to be a sweet dad with a pretty wife and a baby. Of course the fact that it's supposed to be surprising is not encouraging on some level. But I believe it's more about telling us to refrain from judging people harshly based on their status and appearance.
My wife saw the movie too and she couldn't even remember that scene. For people outside of the world of hair loss, it will not stand out, but for us, it seemed like a justification for the whole lookism/incel ideology in one movie scene: "You're pathetic because you're bald and you don't make lots of money!"

It's obvious that no studio would dare to green-light the reverse of this scene these days.

Its an excellent film. It really captures the angst of adolescence and it also shows how teachers are somewhat faceless at first to the teenage narrative.

Come on, teen angst? These angsty teens should try living in a third world refugee camp for a month.

Race to the bottom mentality. Dont complain about your broken foot - that man has no leg.

I'm sure those teens dont self harm and commit suicide just for the lols.

Excellent, very deep, you should be a film critic.

Watching an Aussie series.
Male lead meets with female lead (40 years old).

Male lead asks her what are her basic criteria for men.
She:
"Must have half a brain
and his own hair
Must be over six foot
and over his ex
Not a criminal
"

The order is very telling.
Penis size and race were not mentioned, I'm guessing because it's a TV show and PC correctness.

I'd probably let her down on most of these points.

Nonsense, most girls are more than ready to jump on a criminal's dick. We had one criminal at school and he was very popular even though he was imprisoned for 2 years. I hated the guy because he was a sadist and a fucking sociopath who ruined high school for me. But remember the dark triad: narcissim, machiavellism, psychopathy. These are the negative traits that women are psychologically attracted to. You need to stop watching soap, it does not reflect reality.

What she might be saying is that she'd prefer the man who never got caught.
